The best time to travel in Tuscany

Climate in Tuscany

The climate in Tuscany changes a lot, depending on the seasons, the year and the geography of each area. So the best advice is to dress always in layers! I love to travel in Tuscany during spring and fall because temperatures are goods and I can catch fresh air without problems. If you want you can have a look here to our tours in Tuscany.

In Tuscany we have four different seasons:
  • Spring – from March 21st to June 21st – with warm sunny days, cool nights and some rainy days as well,
  • Summer – from June 21st to September 23rd – with high temperatures, long and sunny days,
  • Fall – from September 23rd to December 21st – with warm sunny days, cool nights and some rainy days as well,
  • Winter – from December 21st to March 21st – with short cold variable days and, in the mountains, some snowy days.

The best months to visit Tuscany

The best months to visit Tuscany are spring and fall. But if you want also a magic atmosphere you need to travel during the low season periods. Another advice I can give you is to always travel in the Unique Corners that only locals know, to avoid depersonalized experiences. March, April, September and October are good months because you can have good temperatures and you are not in the high touristic season.

Winter is very low season period but you can have cold days. You have always to remember that during the festivities – Christmas, All Saints, Eastern… – you will have high season. May and June have a perfect climate but they are also high season months. In summer it is very hot and there is high season, so this is for me the worst period.
